Remember, the energy you bring into the morning affects the energy you carry throughout the day, so choose joy and let it guide your path!

Happy Morning: Starting Your Day With Joy
Everyone aspires to cultivate joy and happiness, but one thing is certain: it all begins when you wake up in the morning.
Those first few minutes in the morning and how you choose to spend them have a significant impact on your mindset, your life, and your mood throughout the day.
You are aware of this from personal experience because you have probably experienced days where you ‘got out of bed on the wrong side of the bed,” and it often seems as though everything fails at the same time.
However, we frequently inflict this on ourselves without recognizing it. The good news is that this can be changed! Starting your day off with happiness will make you happier. By putting greater emphasis on calmness and peace, exercising self-care, and putting your needs first.
Here are 7 different ways you might begin enjoying a more joyful and happy morning:
Habit #1: Spend Some Time in the Calm
The greatest thing you can do for yourself in the morning is to wake up calmly, slowly, and peacefully. Even though it isn’t always possible, try to at least give yourself a few minutes after opening your eyes to simply sit in the calm.
When you wake up, you may only need to sit still for a short period of time, whether you are completely sitting up or lying down with your eyes closed. Let your awareness of your surroundings gradually increase as you let your mind start out slowly. Avoid jumping out of bed and hurrying to get ready and do all of your morning tasks. Give yourself some time alone to get used to a new day.
By not keeping your phone close to your bed when you sleep, you can easily remember to do this. Get a conventional alarm clock that does not require your phone if you need an alarm. You could also set your phone to “do not disturb” if you want to use it as an alarm and not receive any notifications when you check it in the morning.
You require this period to awaken and give your thoughts space to emerge unhindered by any notifications you may have received the previous night.
Habit #2: Keep A Journal of Your Ideas
You’ve certainly heard it suggested to journal in the morning before, but journaling is one of the best things you can do to improve your happiness and joy in the morning.
Why? Because your mind is flooded with a lot of ideas, plans, goals, ambitions, worries, and fears in the morning. You can get all of these thoughts out in the morning diary in the form of a brain dump or “stream of consciousness” so that you can feel free from them and move on with your day.
How to Perform a Brain Dump
Simply put, you should write down whatever you are worrying or thinking about, feeling, planning, and anything else. It could be bad, good, enjoyable, stressful, nerve-wracking, or depressing. Just put everything down on paper. If you’re new to journaling, keep it brief and simple by setting a timer for 5-10 minutes or aiming to fill up 2-3 pages in your morning diary.
Your morning routine of just writing down everything on your mind will become second nature to you with time. Once you’ve finished, you’ll feel relieved and ready to face the day happily and calmly.
Habit #3: Apply Relaxation Methods
When you want to start your morning off with happiness and joy, there are various relaxing methods you can apply. One particularly effective method is meditation. Your mind and body can become completely calmed during meditation, which enables you to change your focus from thoughts to either yourself, your higher power, or whatever you want to meditate on.
Using deep breathing exercises is a fantastic relaxation strategy. Additionally, breathing exercises like “Box Breathing” are extremely effective. You do this by inhaling, holding your breath, exhaling, and pausing five times. This rhythmic pattern soothes the nervous system and fosters joy.
Another fantastic approach is to walk mindfully, where you walk in the morning in a present and mindful mood.
Habit #4: Allow Some Sunlight and Fresh Air in
This is one of the more unexpected ways that can actually significantly affect your mood and how you feel in the morning. Opening your curtains and windows to let in some sunlight and get some fresh air could make all the difference.
Simply letting the sunlight and fresh air inside, especially in the morning, have a calming effect. Your mood improves when the sun touches your skin. A good method to gradually awaken your senses in your home is with fresh air.
Habit #5: Practice Some Morning Self-Care Techniques
You are entirely free to decide how you will define self-care. For a happy morning, consider small tasks you can complete in the allowed time that will make you happier. This can be as easy as allowing yourself an extra 10 minutes to read in the morning, stretching out or doing some fitness exercise, taking some time getting ready in the bathroom, making yourself breakfast, or watching TV.
There are no guidelines for self-care other than the fact that you should only perform it for yourself. If spending time in your garden outside is your favorite part of the day, include this in your morning routine!
Habit #6: Begin Your Day With Gratitude
Making a gratitude list is a simple morning ritual that will instantly improve your mood. This enables you to put more of your attention on the positive aspects of your life and what you value rather than on what you wish you had or what you believe you are losing out on.
Take out a diary or journal each morning, and list 10 things for which you are thankful. They may be the same each morning on some days. But you’ll frequently come up with fresh reasons to be grateful for in your life.
This practice enables you to focus on the more fulfilling areas of your life, turning your attention from what you wish you had to what is better in your life.
Habit #7: Utilize Positive Affirmations
Finally, think about utilizing affirmations in the morning. Choose one affirmation that you repeat each day for a while. Alternately, use a new affirmation every morning, or even use a variety of affirmations every morning.
You can change your perspective to a more optimistic one by saying encouraging things in the morning. You can then think with hope and confidence that everything will turn out for the best.
